She's been the patient. Now she's the clinician who actually looks deeper.

Most women who find Rooted have already seen multiple providers. They've had labs run, been told everything looks normal, and left with either a prescription that masks symptoms or no answers at all. They're not looking for another opinion. They're looking for someone who can actually explain what's happening, and do something about it.

That's what Miranda Rozecki built Rooted to be.

Miranda began her career as an emergency room nurse in inner-city Baltimore, then moved to a Level 1 Trauma Center outside Washington, DC. In the ER, you learn to read the whole picture fast; to think in systems, not symptoms, and to understand that what's presenting on the surface is rarely the whole story.

That clinical instinct followed her into functional medicine. After earning her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from George Washington University, graduating at the top of her class and inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, she went on to complete her certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine, one of the most rigorous credentialing pathways in the field.

What she kept seeing, across years of practice in both conventional and functional medicine, was the same pattern: women being evaluated for hormones or metabolism, never both, and almost never together. Insulin resistance driving androgen excess, unaddressed. Cortisol dysregulation disrupting thyroid function, unaddressed. Sex hormone imbalances persisting because the metabolic root was never touched.

She founded Rooted to treat both systems together because that's the only clinical approach that actually resolves symptoms.

What Miranda believes and will say plainly:

“Metabolic dysfunction and hormonal dysfunction cannot be treated, or even evaluated, as separate issues. They are one integrated system. Treating one while leaving the other unaddressed means the untreated system continues to cause damage, potentially for years. True resolution of symptoms requires diagnosing, treating, and continuously reevaluating both together. This is not a novel idea. It is simply what the physiology demands and what most clinical settings don't have the time or training to do."

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

Rooted is not a wellness practice. It's a clinical practice that takes a functional approach. That means advanced diagnostic testing, clinical pattern recognition, and treatment plans that are built around your specific physiology, not a protocol designed for the average patient.

Conventional medicine is essential. Miranda trained in it, practices within it, and draws on it every day. But conventional medicine evaluates systems in isolation, manages symptoms over time, and moves in 15-minute windows. Rooted does the opposite, spending the time required to understand the full picture before building a plan.

The result is care that feels different from the first appointment. Not because it's softer or slower, but because it's actually aimed at the right target.

A Little More About Me

Favorite go-to simple meal
An easy Niçoise-style salad from refrigerator leftovers, usually with leftover fish or good quality tinned fish, a lemon-garlic dressing, and olives (always a staple).

Daily non-negotiable habit
Morning movement with my coffee. It’s how I start my day grounded, energized, and motivated.

Something I’m personally working on
Work–life balance. I’m practicing putting down all work-related reading, researching, prepping, and charting at least 30 minutes before bed, so I can actually enjoy my evening reading time.

Most unexpected thing about me
I’m a big Nebraska football fan. I was raised by a diehard Huskers supporter, and I fully plan on carrying on the tradition.

If you've been dismissed, told your labs are normal, or given answers that haven't led to real change - this is where that pattern ends.

We believe…

True healing starts at the root.
That’s why we look beyond symptoms to uncover the underlying causes of imbalance.

Our ethics…

We believe in medicine rooted in integrity, transparency, and compassion- where every patient is heard, respected, and cared for as a whole person.

We stand…

We aim to stay rooted in medical knowledge while balancing it with lifestyle, nutrition, and personalized care that support long-term wellness.

Chronic Fatigue and Metabolic Issue

“I had been exhausted for years with no real answers. Miranda ran testing I'd never had before, found insulin resistance that had been completely missed, and everything finally clicked. My energy came back, my weight started moving, and for the first time I actually understood what was going on in my own body. I feel like a completely different person.”

Finally Got Answers in Perimenopause

"I was exhausted, gaining weight despite doing everything right, and kept being told my labs were normal. Miranda looked deeper, at my metabolic and hormonal systems together, and actually found answers. Within a few months my energy was back and my body started responding again. I finally have a provider who looked at the whole picture."

Fulfilled Goal to Optimize Health as a Long Distance Athlete

"Working with NP Miranda has been such a different experience compared to my past healthcare visits. NP Miranda explained every step of the process, from lab work to diagnosis, in a way that was easy to understand and empowering. I appreciated how she combined the appropriate use of conventional medicine with a functional approach that focused on long term healing. I left each visit not only with answers, but also with a clear plan and the knowledge I needed to take an active role in my health. It truly felt like comprehensive, modern care."
